Personal Statement
My practice predominantly lies within painting, photography
and also drawing and print.

The works are concerned with pictorial space and the perception
of real. A painting can question illusory qualities of space by
moving the boundaries between photograph and painted surface.
Things are not as they seem within the works. The blurring of
what is real and what is virtual exploits the inability of our
consciousness to distinguish reality from fantasy.

“Whatever I have up till now accepted as most true I have
acquired from the senses or through the senses. But from
time to time I have found that the senses deceive and it
is prudent never to trust completely those who have
deceived us even once. ”

René Descartes (First Meditation: what can be called into doubt)
